Sorry no pictures! Michael has the camera in Brazil right now so when he gets back maybe then will I have some for you. I realize I have not done well at this blogging thing all year... and now August is almost over! So what is new? Lets see...
In May the Connors and the Sessions came for a weekend and we went to see the National, went to Disneyland, and celebrated Brandi's birthday and Michael and I's 7th anniversary! Packed alot in in 3 days! It was really soooo much fun. When we are together my face literally gets sore from laughing so much. Then the next weekend Bob and Gesse came into town (i can't remember why?) but it was great to have them.
Then the next weekend we went to Sacramento for Michael's cousins wedding and then went to San Fransisco for a night with bob and Gesse. That Sunday was Fathers day and it was great because Michael and Bob took the boys to the AT&T Park and had a tour and played a little baseball. Meanwhile Gess and I went shopping and also had the best frozen yogurt I have ever had! I can make this fathers day a tradition!
Next... actually on our drive home Ashley called and found cheap flights so I could come for her 30th dance party! I couldn't resist! I was just going to take Drew with me but in that same week My grandma Ruth was diagnosed with liver cancer and no one was quite sure she was going to live a few weeks. So i brought Owen with me. Let me just say that Ashley's party was the most fun I have ever had at a birthday party!!!!!!! I danced my heart out. I did miss Michael alot though especially during the slow songs. I felt like I was in junior high again! Then we got to go and visit my grandma. I am so grateful I did because I got to sit and visit with her and tell her how much I love her and what an amazing women i thought she was. She is still alive but she is confused and when Katie saw her last Sunday she didn't recognize her. so i am so happy i got that brief moment with her.
The day after I got home Karalee, Austin and Kade came to stay for a few days! I love having them around the world just seems right when we can do everything together. It was nice because Karalee was around for a few weeks so we got to hang out for the 4th of July the came and went swimming we had BBQ's and we went to the fair. By the time they left it was time for Kelly to come visit and for Beach week!!!!!!!!!! Michael was in the middle of finals so he came when we could but he was just to busy. I am always so grateful for my family whole picks up the slack for me when Michael's not around. I hope someday I can repay them with their families! I would survive without them! We had a great time at the beach and the Connors even stayed a night at our house before going home!!!!!
Then the next week my grandma Fern took a turn for the worse. She had a little stroke sometime on that Sunday. She couldn't walk and she was slurring her words. She didn't eat or wake up for 2 1/2 days. We were all preparing for her to go but that Friday morning she wakes up and wants her favorite eggs and some fruit! It is so crazy! It has been amazing to watch my Mom. She takes immaculate care of grandma. She has really taught me alot through this whole process. Wow what a women!
Then on Friday, Bob and Gesse came into town and on Saturday morning... MICHAEL GRADUATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought those last few weeks were going to kill one of us but he did it and I am soooooo incredibly proud of him!!!!!! I don't know how he did it. I never saw him stressed or frustrated(except the last few weeks) He is amazing, you all should be jealous!
Then the next day I hopped on a plane with the kids and went to Aspen Grove for a Bryan family reunion! It really was so fun. Heide and Matt were there, Kelly last minute flew in, Coleen and the kids! It was great! Until wed. night when my grandma Bryan was getting ready for bed she fell. No one checked on her until the morning. They found her on the ground( her bed never touched) shivering and VERY confused. It was really scary/ sad. She always had the most amazing memory. It was so weird to see her like that. I never expected that. Also that night Owen started barfing which stared a whole epidemic of stomach flu!!! Not fun when you are staying in very close quarters!( or in a minivan in the parking lot... POOR DANE!!!) My dad had driven, so the boys and I hitched a ride home. My dad was not feeling so good but did mention it to me. Also he hadn't slept for 2 nights straight so about 3 hours into the drive he tells me he feels like what he imagines it feels like to be on drugs. I start freaking out but he wouldn't pull over!!!! He let me drive for 1 1/2 hours total. That had to be the longest drive of my life. My poor dad was so sick we almost got a hotel in Barstow. The last 2 1/2 hours seemed impossible. Somehow we made it. We were singing every word to Les Mis we could think of and that's what kept us going. The next day Summer and Tyler were being sealed. I really wanted to be there but with the stomach flu and all the driving we decided it wasn't going to work. Sorry Summer! Congrats!!! It looked like alot of fun!
On Sunday Owen gave his first talk in Primary. He wrote it and knew every word. But when the time came... it was me who gave his talk! He wouldn't say a thing! oh well! I got it on the flip so I will post it when Michael gets back! Which leads to Monday morning when I took Michael to the airport! He has been gone for 5 days now. We miss him so bad!!!!!! I am so grateful for technology we have been able to talk or sykpe every day! We went to the beach twice this week because finally the weather is Great!!!!!! Michael gets home on Monday, then he has a San Fran trip, then the next weekend is Seth wedding and the we leave for Germany the day after he gets back!!! So to say the least this summer has been CRAZY. I love you all and if i have neglected you at all, now you can see why.

Here is a video for you Mom. sorry it is sideways I didn't realize i couldn't rotate it! We have been a tad busy... i went to visit kel and Heide in DC while Michael took the kids to Utah. then we went to Disneyland with Jaden and Alex before our summer block out days. then we went to San Jose and San Fransisco for a wedding. Then I took the kids back to Utah for Ashely Connors amazing 30th dance party and the day after we got back Karalee came to stay with us, it was the 4th of July and then the lifferths left on Sunday! so i think I can be excused because i really haven't had a min to blog!!!!!!! this summer has been so fun so far except that we have only been to the beach 2x so far because it has been so overcast!!!!!!!!! we are definitely going tomorrow! i am really bad at pictures so if i find some i will post them. On a side note i just want to vent right now because I just went to a wedding and i was excited to see people and talk but every person that came up to talk to me talked about their hair. I love doing hair and i love that i can do it for people i wouldn't see otherwise but seriously do you think i want to talk about you hair while i am at a wedding or relief society or whatever it it you see me at? seriously give me a break.

This post is really for my own journal more then anything so feel free to not read because i am not posting any pictures!
About a week ago i was G chatting with Kel Kel and we were telling her about Owen's birthday and Disneyland and a few other things we have going on. She said "Man you guys live a great life!"
Last night I woke up in a complete panic. I had a dream that I found Drew at the bottom of the pool and i struggled to get him out. it was like I couldn't swim. Something was weighing me down. Almost like that feeling when you try to scream and you can't. When I finally got to the surface I panicked and tried to do CPR. Luckily I was able to revive him but then I freaked out begging him to never go near the pool again. That is when I woke up. I immediately began to sob. It felt so real, more real then any dream I had ever had. I grabbed Michael and tried to get a hold of myself. Of course he woke up and was very confused but he just held me. I wanted to call my mom and convince her she needed to move and get rid of the pool, but i knew i couldn't. I also wanted to sign up for CPR classes right then and there, but it was 3 in the morning. Of course i couldn't sleep... all I could see was that sweet little face smiling at me under water. It makes me sick.
I didn't have any hair to do today (which is rare) so we got to just hang out and I even took a little nap! When Drew woke up I took the kids over to a friends to play. For dinner I took the kids to sushi and met Michael at his work with the left overs. We came home and put the kids to bed. It was an easy but great day. As I laid next to Owen we had a little chat about the holy ghost that melted my heart and then he was silent. I thought he had fallen asleep and I got up and he whispered "Mom?... I love you" the tears just streamed down my face.
Kelly's words keep ringing in my hear... "you live a great life!" It's true. I am so lucky I have a husband who loves to see his family happy. He loves and serves us daily. I have family and friends who i love dearly. And I have two beautiful boys who keep me on my toes, make me laugh out loud, and who love me unconditionally. I am living the life I always dreamed I would. Heavenly Father has given me so much sometimes it honestly scares me.

Owen's Birthday

Owen had a great Birthday. He loved that his friends were there to help him celebrate. When I asked Owen what he wanted for his birthday, he said without hesitation: I want a live zebra. Well, we didn't get him that, but we got him a pinata shaped like a zebra and a bike. He was very happy. Here are some pictures.

It is hard to believe that it was 4 years ago i had this crazy little kid! He makes me laugh every day! He has changed my life forever and i am so grateful for that. Some days I wonder how it's possible one person could have so much energy and enthusiasm, but then i realize he is just like his dad! Owen told me along time ago he wanted a zebra birthday. so Angela picked us up and we met Coleen and her kids at the LA Zoo! They shared these cute zebra print binoculars and looked at all the animals. We had lunch by the zebras and walked around some more. Then we went to pinkberry! Owen LOVES to hang out with his cousins! Then we came home and had a great BBQ and swim party at my moms! Owen is so lucky to have so many people who love him! of course all who are far away were missed terribly (but he loved all the phone calls)! Michael got Owen an awesome bike! he just got on it and road off like it was no big deal! It was a fun filled day! thanks to everyone! i love this boy like crazy !

Reasons why I know i go to Pinkberry too much:
#1: When i asked owen if he wanted to go with me to Costco and said "We could stop at Pinkberry?!!" (in a very persuasive voice) he replied, " Oh no thanks but you could just get me a small pomegranate with gummy bears!" ( in a much more persuasive voice) ... scary he know his own order!
#2: When the kid swipes my adorable hello kitty card he says... " oh you were just here last week i remember saying something about this card last time!"... yikes i am embaressed!
#3: i think about stopping there whenever I am out and about (which is everyday)
i am sure there are a hundred more reasons but oh well what can i say I LOVE PINKBERRY!
Btw I just finished a medium pomegranate with raspberries and dark chocolate crisps! MmmMmmmMmmmm! I am not going to worry about it until the day comes when i walk through the door and they say " Welcome to Pinkberry Mrs. Barnett would you like the usual?" i let you know when that day happens and then i will try to cut back!

Last friday Michael and I took a weekend trip to northern California (which was lovely and i will post about soon). As we were saying goodbye to Owen he was watching Jimmy Neutron and completely sucked in. Michael told Owen "If you are really good and help tracie with Drew when i get back I will give you 5 dollars!" (i thought 5 dollars was big time i was thinking candy or something) Owen still was zoned so michael asked" owen did you even hear what I just said?" He stopped look at us and said, " yeah if i am good and help tracie with drew you will give me.... (he paused) smiled and yelled Ten dollars!!!!!!! We tried not to laugh michael said " nooo..." owen "8?" michael "no" owen "7?" michael "no" owen"6" michael "no..." owen "9?..." michael "no i said 5! 5 owen!" owen " 17?" wow! he has some skills it scary how that little mind works!

If you know me at all you know I am obsessed with So You Think You Can Dance! This season has been so fun because Breanne's (who's husband works with Michael) cousin Ashleigh and her husband Ryan are on the show. She has been so kind as to call me up when she has extra tickets to the taping! It has been such a blast to go and watch the dancers and have the inside scoop! of course i don't have pics because they wont let you bring the camera in but after the taping one night we got back to Angela's car and the driver's side window was smashed and her purse stolen!!! It really sucked but we tried to make the best of it. This was our attempt to cover the window so it wouldn't be so cold. It lasted about three minutes and made the ride Very loud but at least we laughed really hard at ourselves!

This past month and a half have been crazy!!!!! But also jam packed with a whole lot of fun! I have realized though that i might be the worst picture taker EVER!!!!!!! The silly thing is that I always have my camara, but I never ever take pictures! So the fun started by Tracie's wedding. The next day michael and I (it was Michael birthday) flew to Utah. Gesse stayed and watched the boys for us! thanks GIGI! That night the lovely Connors picked us up from the airprot and we went to dinner (sorry no picture). We had such a great time as always when with john and ash. I have to say though i was a little worried all night about Ashley becauseright before they came to pick us up she had fallen down a few stairs and hit the back of her head. i thought we might be heading to the hospital but turns out she was okay(I still think she might of had a slight concusion) Then the next morning we left with michael work for Lake Powell!!!! We had such a good time and really great weather except for the last night when it got really windy! I love lake powell and i love being on the boat! Thanks GPS for a great trip!!!!(again not a single picture!) Then I decided to take the boys with me to Arizona. By this time Kade was seven weeks old and I couldn't stand it ANY LONGER!!!!!!! I needed to hold that sweet baby! I was so proud of myself for pulling of a road trip just me and the kids! It was sooooo worth it though just to see Owen and Austin together! They love each other so much it melts my heart. They would leave eachothers side they had to do everything together including all their trips to the bathroom. I think Owen even offered to wipe Austins bum so karalee wouldn't have to! Ha ha ha i dont think so bud!! We hung out, went to the zoo, went to storytime, trunk or treated and played played played!!!!! It was so fun and i am so grateful Scott and karalee tolerated me and my choas! Thanks Lifferths love you and miss you everyday!!!! We came home the morning of halloween. We got to hang out with all the Bryan cousins and all go trick or treating together. we had a blast!!!!! Then the next thursday tracie took Michael and i to the airport and tracie and dane had the kids for the weekend while we went to NYC!!!!!!!!! We loved every minute of it! We tried to do as much as we could but there is just to much to see to do it in 2 and a half days!!!! Looks like we just might have to go back again!!!! We are stay in Cali for Thanksgiving and the it's off to utah for Christmas!!!!!!!!! We will be there for three weeks and boy are we excited!!!!!

This is a video i took today and it made me laugh so hard usually if owen knows he is saying a naughty word he has this look on he face like, i know i am not supposed to say this word but i dont care! sometimes we add er to the end of a word to be silly for example instead of saying," silly goose" i will say, "You silly gooser!" ( i cant remember if i made that up or owen did) so he really just thought he came up with a cute little nick name for halloween by adding the er! i am just glad i caught it on tape... Happy Halloweener!!!!!!!!!

yes we hand made all those tissue balls! but i think it turned out sooooo cute!
Doesn't tracie look amazing in that dress! right when she sat down in the car to leave Owen ran up to give her a hug he said," i wove (love) you twacie... what's a honeymoon?" tracie laughed and told him to go ask his mom! i don't know where he got that but it was pretty cute!
Also Owen was sooooo excited for this wedding about two weeks before he asked "are jaden and alex coming down?
me " no, not until tracies wedding... and then you can hang out with them ALL DAY LONG!"

i laughed really hard but he was not kidding around! as soon as that dance music started he was out on that floor dancing his heart out. i don't know what i was thinking i didn't get any footage of it! it was hilarious! wow that kid makes me laugh! love you tracie and dane!!!!! thanks for a great party!

We had a great time at each week this year. Michael and I shared a house with Jared and Coleen. Michael was stressed with school projects and couldn't be there a few days and my brother stepped in and really helped out a lot. He is the best brother ever (thanks to Coleen too for making such a great bro and for helping me out a well)! We had seven new babies this year and it was so fun to see them all together! Our group has really gotten crazy but it so fun to see it grow!!!! Heide and Matt were able to come out and i finally got to meet my newest niece Ruthie. I was so excited for that. Having the clarks here made me realize how much I miss them. Having the whole family, great friends and a beach to hang out on everyday equals perfection! I heart beach week.

A Magestic Man

After last years post, I just want to remind everyone that I am just an ordinary man capable of the extraordinary. I have taken a year long sabbatical from posting on the blog, and now I return to give you my most favorite piece, "A Majestic Man". ( I toyed with the idea of calling it A Majestic Beast, but i like man better.) It is the journey of ones man quest to conquer the world. Please, sit back and prepare yourself to be taken on a journey that transcends both time and space, well, space not time, I don't know what i am talking about.

This first picture captures the essence of man's purity. So naive and fragile. The Majestic Man prepares himself for the world by delicately applying sun tan lotion to help him brave the elements. Such peace can be found in those languishing eyes.

The carefree majestic man has now seen the deepest bowls of hell. He has looked into the soul of Mother Earth and has seen nothing but a cataclysm of catastrophe. The man has been thwarted by the beast. You won this round, but I will be back for my revenge. Where there was once a heart, is now replaced by the fiery spirit of a wolverine. He bares a tattoo over his right breast to remind him of that dark night when he faced the beast, and won.

This next image captures the Majestic Man's ability to put the past behind him and throw caution to the wind (caution is in the form of a water bottle) and take what life has to offer. He possesses the rare ability to feel nothing in the face of adversity. When the world hand you lemons, he makes lemonade.

Happy Fathers Day

We haven't seen much of Michael these days... he had midterms... then I was in Utah for a week... then he was in Utah to run the Wasatch Back... then was home for a day but had work and school until 10:30... and now he is in San Fran on business! Even though i was with Michael's family in Utah and live with my family ( who all have been a tremendous help!) I feel like a single mom. I honestly don't know how people do it! I would be the worst single mother! i realize how much I need Michael and how much he does for our little family! He is such a hard worker and I know he does it all for us! Thank you for all you do and for always keeping smiles on our faces!!!! love you!

Grandma Meek

My mom went to stay with Heide when she had her baby and while she was gone she had me taking care of Grandma Meek (my mom's mom). I had to take the kids to their doctors appt. and a few arronds when i came be i found Katie at home crying. Grandma had fallen and broken her hip and Katie had come home from work and found her on the ground. That whole week she was in the hospital laying their with a broken hip trying to get her congestive heart failure under control so they could do surgery. It was horrible seeing her in so much pain. I arrange for people to watch the kids while I went and sat with her in the hospital.The hospital is such an emotionally draining place even though for the most part i was just sitting there trying to comfort grandma i would come home wiped out. I was so grateful to everyone who helped me out. My mom came home alittle early from D.C. I felt bad for heide i dont think she was ready for mom to leave. Grandma had the ball of her hip replaced and did really well. she is still in rehab but every day is different some days she is totally with it and other days she is seeing full size camels in her room( and other such hallucantions). It will be interesting to see what she is like at home.

This was the night of our anniversay! We had gone camping the night before and went boating with brian and angela, then we came home and swam for a while got ready and went to the dodger game with... Dad, Jared, Jaden, Alex, Scott, Austin, Owen and Drew. It was such a fun day! Happy 6 years!!!! I love you Michael!

I know this post is a few days early but i just had a few things on my mind and i feel i need to vent. Vent isn't the right word but you know what i mean. First of all i have to tell you that about a month ago my Grandma Meek was hospitalized in congestive heart failure. Since being released she is a permanent resident with my mom. My mom left for D.C. last Thursday and left me in charge! I am grateful for the opportunity to help my mom out in any way I can and to help my grandma out as well. I have such an appreciation for my mom. I don't know how she does it! She has a way of dealing with things that amazes me. I seem to crumble very easily. She always keeps a level head in the mist chaos. I don't know how she does it! She was meant to have six kids. Growing up I always thought Mom was the bad guy she was always soooo strict. Now i realize she did a damn good job(sorry mom)! Tonight Owen spiked a fever and i freaked out. No matter how many times he gets sick i worry that something is really wrong and that i am going to miss it and not do the right thing. I know I can call my mom no matter what time it is and she is always a sound of reason and comfort. Emotionally, i am spent with Owen, drew and grandma. I know all of my siblings still rely on my mom and yet she is there for each of us when we need her. Thank you mom for being the best example of what a mother is. I love you!

This was Easter in St. George! We had a great time with the barnett family!!!

Last week Kelly was here on break and it was really hot so we went to the beach a few days in a row! The second day we were there we were surprised by Karalee and Austin!!!!! They just strolled up the beach like they lived ten minutes away ( after driving from Arizona) It was the best surprise EVER!!!!!!!!!

We went to Disneyland on Friday for Owen's birthday! We had quite the crew!! Lucas, Dalon, Austin and Drew all there for the first time!!! The boys loved every minute of it it was really cute to watch!
Jared and Coleen and the kids met up with us in the late afternoon and all the boys just love having uncle jared around!!! I love that they all had to raise their arms for Pirates!!!
When I asked Owen what he wanted to do for his birthday he told me he wanted a monster cake... This little cake was really fun to make!!! Kelly said she wanted to pinch the monsters cheeks all day!!!!

Owen is still obsessed with the dodgers and manny ramirez so he got the manny wig!!!

I am a little embarrassed that I made this video. I always told myself that I wouldn't be that guy who thinks his kid is better than everyone else. The only thing I didn't take into account is that I might actually have a kid that is better than everyone else. I was bored on my flight from SFO to LAX, so making this video kept me entertained. A few highlights:

The beginning

Since we moved to California Michael has been real intense about playing church sports. The basketball season just ended and Owen went to a few games to support Michael. All he wants to do now is play basketall in the back yard.Today I was out there with him and he made me step off the court and say a prayer before we started the game..." Dear Heavenly Father thank you that mommy could play basketball and help the ladybug find his mommy amen! Let's start the game!!!!!" At least that is what he walked away with from church ball instead of some pretty embarrassing behavior!! I have to remind Michael sometimes it's not the NBA!

Owen is officially potty trained!!!!!!!! I can't believe it!!! He goes all night with no pull-ups! The day after we came home with Drew... Owen wanted nothing to do with diapers. He hasn't put one on since! I am so glad I don't have to change 2 kids!! We are so proud of him. Michael Made this ingenious chart and it worked like charm. He earned a Leapster by having 20 days of no accidents and he was sooooo excited for his leapster. Right before I started taping him opening it I had to cut the box open that it was sent in. Owen kept saying, "BE CAREFUL, BE REALLY CAREFUL MOMMY!!!!" We love you Owie!!!!!

It has come to our attention that the medical staff made an error assessing little Drew's weight. They did not zero out the scale, so his actual weight is 7 lbs flat. That is more like a Barnett/Bryan baby. Sorry for any confusion that may have come from this false information. So guess you all will need to see if you can take back all the onesies that say "Eight pounds and proud of it!"

So here is how it went dowm... Adi went to the hospital at 9:00 am to check in and get ready for the baby. The doctor came in and broke her water around 12:15 and then told us that the anesthesiologist was in a surgery and that he would be by around 1:30 or 2:00pm to give Adi an epidural. Well, Drew was not going to wait that long! About 15 minutes after they broke Adi's water she had some serious contractions. About 30 minutes after that, Drew was born. Too bad for Adi there was no time for the epidural. She had to do this one old school. Adrienne did an amazing job. She was very strong and handled the pain with a grace that I will never be able to understand. I have a new appreciation for women do to bring life into this world, and I am grateful that they have the strength to go through with it. I think we all know that if the roles were reversed human would have been extinct thousand of years ago. I am very proud of Adi and I am excited to spend more time with Drew and get to know him.

Owen was very excited to meet his baby brother. He was very interested in Drew for about 10 minutes, then he started acting crazy, slipped and put his tooth through his bottom lip. In true Owen form there were little tears an he was off to climb on something new. IT was after this "The Grandmas" took him home. They were an unbelievable strength to Adi and I and we are very greatful for their help.

Drew is 8 lbs 5 oz and is 20 inches in length. He is a beautiful baby boy and the doctors all say that he is a fine specimen of health. He and Adi are doing great and we are thankful everyones kindness. Enjoy some pics of the little guy!

Yesterday I went to the Dr. (he has been out of town for the last 2 and 1/2 weeks) I am dilated to a three and he says it could be anytime now. He told me to go on long walks and jump on a trampoline! I went on a walk yesterday and felt like i was contracting the whole time, but as soon as i got home... NOTHING! I am trying to stay calm and happy but seriously!!!!!!!!! I have and induction scheduled for Friday and i guess that gives me piece of mind that I wont be pregnant FOREVER but I swear with all my heart that time has slowed down. everyday goes by so slowly i think I might go crazy. Owen keeps yelling into my belly, "Come out baby brother!! Come play with me!!!!" For Christmas Michael convinced my Dad to buy one of those basketball game things you find at an arcade where there are two baskets and you have a competition. Anyway, Owen is obsessed with it and was shooting baskets the other day. I was standing next to it and he was standing on a chair. he shot a ball and yelled into my belly, "Did you see that baby brother? Did you see that?" I t makes me laugh! I am excited to see what kind of big brother Owen will be. I can't wait. I really hope it is soon. Please baby come out! please?

Owen loved his gift from Santa. He had been asking for weeks if Santa was going to bring him a "Thomas Train". Santa was a little cheap and got him the Toys-r-us version. Thomas the Train sets are outrageously expensive. Owen hates Santa and he was not excited to sit on his lap. Through the line he was feeling anxious and was crying. I told him that if he was a good boy and didn't cry, Santa would bring him whatever he wanted. As we approached Santa, Owen stopped crying, put on a serious face and climbed on his knee. Once on his knee he plastered on a fake smile and allowed the photographer to take his pictures. He promptly umped off Santa's knee and looked him straight in the face and said "Thomas the Train Set". IT was very funny. Enjoy his reaction to finding what Santa brought him.

Since moving to California I know our blog has been a bit neglected! I feel like there are things I should post about but then when I sit down to do it my mind goes blank! So here is just a boring update on our little family. We went to Utah the Friday before the BYU/U of U game. We had purchased season tickets to the U games before we found out we were moving. So this was the only game Michael had to make it to. It was just to be Michael and Bob but last minute he asked Owen if he wanted to come. Of course Owen was sooooooo excited. Michael said he sat on his shoulders and cupped his mouth and booed BYU as they ran out on the field!! Wow! I never thought my son would be such a sports fan. Michael was very proud of him. While the boys were gone The girls went out to dinner and went to the Nutcracker. It was so much fun!!! We stayed in Utah for Thanksgiving and had a great holiday with Bob and Gesse. It was quiet and relaxing, just what I needed! The next night the boys went to the Jazz game and I stayed home with Owen, Gesse and Aunt Lisa. We were just talking and Owen was playing and he slipped on the wood floor and smacked the back of his head. He was crying pretty hard and then he started throwing up all over. I knew he had a concussion so we got in the bath a got cleaned up and headed over to the ER. By the time he was dressed he was totally happy and informed me he was fine and didn't need to go to the doctor. I decided to get a CAT scan just to be safe. Michael met us at the hospital and went in with him. Owen thought it was so cool that they were taking pictures of his brain. When we left he was so mad that he didn't get to look at them!!! Everything looked great and I knew he was fine but that night in bed I just cried and cried. I stared thinking about having 2 crazy boys and wondering how many trips to the ER i would be making in the future. I really don't know if my little heart can handle it! I am so excited about Owen having a brother, but I am equally as scared. I just want them to be safe and I know boys are not the best at being safe! Of course we got to spend some time with the Lifferths and the Connors which is always a treat!!! Owen and I stayed in case Ashley had her baby but no such luck. We got home last Wednesday and Michael was finishing his last final that night. He is officially done with his first trimester and I am soooooooo proud of him!!! He works so hard for our little family and I am so grateful. I am continually surprised at how lucky I am to have a husband who works so hard. I didn't know this about him when I married him. He likes to fool everyone into thinking he is all fun and games. Anyway, these next couple weeks are going to be really busy as everyone is trying to get their hair done before Christmas and the baby comes! I am starting to get really uncomfortable now, I am stretched to the max but sorry I won't be posting any pictures it just isn't pretty. I am so excited for Christmas. Everyone on the family is going to be here and there really isn't any thing in this world I love more then to be with them. Then after Christmas the baby can come at any time, the sooner the better! No we don't have a clue what we are naming him! If you have any suggestions let me know!

This video was taken the day after Halloween and Owen was so sick of wiggling his tail for everyone. I am sad I couldn't get him to do it because it is really cute. He had such a great time Trick or Treating. He was amazed he could go to people's houses and they would give him candy!!!! So for the last two days he goes outside rings the doorbell and trick or treats at grandma and grandpa and he gives candy to anyone who comes to the door. Seriously, I don't know. I feel like my brain has completely left my head. Whenever I get a free moment all I want to do is sleep! So I apologize to all you diligent bloggers out there because I can't seem to get it together. I can tell you, living at my parent's house is crazy. If we are home we are in the pool. You think I am exaggerating but i am not. Owen is in love with swimming, and he is amazingly really good at it. The other day he was swimming and my mom asked him, "Owen are you an otter?" He looked at her patted his belly and said, " No, I'm Owen Micheal Phelps!!!" He has also developed this obsession with the Dodgers. We have been to three Dodger games in a month. We were out shopping one day and the entire time he sang take me out to the ball game at the top of his lungs. he is quite the character these days. Not that that is a surprise to anyone who knows his father! I don't know where the cord to the camera is otherwise I would post pictures and video. When I do find or buy a cord I will. For now you will have to deal with my lame stories. Oh also Owen misses Utah really bad. Every day he asks if he can go home. One night Michael and I were snuggling him while putting him to bed. He cried saying, " I want to go home. I want to go to Utah!!!" over and over again. Then he got silent for a second (his eyes were totally closed) he threw his fist in the air and shouted," Go Ute's!!!!!!" We laughed pretty hard. We do miss Utah a lot but we are surviving!

BOY!!!!!!!!!!

A girl in my mom's home ward is a ultra sound tech and let me come in last night to see if she could tell what I am having. She tried a bunch of different angles so she said she is pretty sure she saw some parts!!!!! I saw it to so I feel very confident it's a baby boy!!!!!!! WE are so excited for Owen to have a brother. I know they will have so much fun together and be best friends! It would have been fun to have a girl for cousin Bryan's sake but she will survive, right? Michael Is beside himself he is so excited to have boys!!!!! It's funny I always imagine myself with a house full of crazy boys. I can't wait to see his little face!!!!

I announce that I have been accepted to the Graziadio School of Business at Pepperdine University. I will persue my MBA at Pepperdine and I am very excited to begin. Classes begin on August 25th, and we are not even close to being ready to move there. We are excited that we will be moving back to Southern California, but I have great anxioity about how we are going to make the move, start school, and deal with Adrienne being pregnant. We shall prevail.

Owen At His Best

This is my second attempt to download some video I took of Owen yesterday. I has been talking so much lately and he says some funny stuff so I thought I would try to capture it on tape. I never want to be one of those... look at my child isn't he the cutest thing you ever seen? type of parent, so I apologize. But sometimes I think he is funny and I knew that at least my family would enjoy some of this so oh well. P.S. the video of Owen that Michael posted a few days ago was his way of announcing i am pregnant. (without consulting me) I was going to post an ultrasound picture on Monday but i think Michael just got a little excited. To answer the most common questions asked after telling someone you are expecting.

"How are you feeling?" (why is this always the 1st? I usually hmm and ha and try to decide if I should lie through my teeth or if they really want to know the truth.... I FEEL LIKE CRAP!!!!!!

I know though that it is the beautiful price you pay, right?

"When are you due?" Jan. 11, 2009 I know that sounds a long ways away for me too!

"What do you want a boy or a girl?" Honestly (I mean that) it doesn't matter. Owen would LOVE a little brother to beat up. But I know he would be the sweetest big brother to a girl so I really don't care. I just want a healthy baby.

" Wow you are already getting big!" ( I know that's not a question but people say it) Thank you I was completely unaware it's a good thing you pointed that out for me. Thanks!

No really I am so excited for this baby... and for the 1st trimester to be over! And I will keep you all posted on any news!

P.P.S I am also so excited to be pregnant again with Ashley. She is such a good example to me of how to be a mom!!!!

There are very few images in this world that manage to capture beauty in its truest form. The face of an athlete after winning a world championship, the fall of the Berlin wall, and those famous first footsteps on the moon’s surface; all examples of images that will forever live on in history. This last weekend I had the pleasure to take part in a relay race that started in Logan and ended in Park City. 180 miles of grueling mountain climbs and steep descents. As team we completed the course in 29 hours. One picture can describe this glorious accomplishment. Behold, “Man Running” by: Michael Barnett.

How one lens can capture such strength and dignity baffles me. The raw power of the young man is mind blowing. The strength of 1000 horses with the delicate beauty of a butterfly. Last weekend Brian and Angela were moving to Ventura officially. They had a bunch of stuff they still need to be driven out to them so Michael and I volunteered to drive it out and we asked Karalee and Austin if they wanted to come with us. It was a quick trip but it was a lot of fun. On Friday we went to the beach, had Pepe's, got burned and the boys had soooo much fun eating and playing in the sand. On Saturday everyone one in the fam was together (except Tracie and Kel Kel and they were missed) Mom made crapes, we went to the park and played an intense game of dodgeball, we then swam all day long and then Dad made an excellent dinner on the BBQ. By the way everybody loves Sadie, Katie's new dog, but nobody loves that dog more then Mom!!!!! It is so funny to witness. All growing up I thought Mom was a dog hater what a phony!!!!!! Thanks for a great weekend everyone!!!!! We love you!!!!! We will miss you Brian and Ang!!!!!

Owen, aside from being a genius, is also very handy to have around the house. I was having a little car trouble so I put him to the task of fixing the car. I know he looks terrified, wouldn't you be? Dalon Robert Bladen has entered the world. Well, it is Dalon for now. Brian and Angela have been going back and forth between Dalon and Dylan. He is very cute and sweet, he gets that from his mother. Brian and Angela are doing well and are very busy taking care of their two little guys. Adrienne and I are very proud to be aunt and uncle to such awesome little guys. Bob and Gesse are being very helpful and have been taking care of Lucas while Brian and Angela have been at the hospital. They cam home today around 2PM. I know Brian is eager to sleep in his own bed tonight. I will post better pictures as I get them, but as for now, here is some footage of the little man.

Where did Spring go?

Spring time is not coming to Utah. We will forever be forced to endure the freezing cold. I woke up this morning to go to work and I Had to literally chisel an inch of ice off my car. Then I got to sit in traffic for an hour and a half all the while driving on a sheet of ice. This is not what I signed up for. I came back from lunch an the picture that was up on my screen saver was of Owen late last summer enjoying his favorite shirt. It reminded me of better time and raised my spirits in the reflection that summer will one day return. I hope it does the same for all those of you who do not live in sunny Southern Cal and for those who think this story is all too familiar.

It is time for Lady winter to retreat to her icy cave from whence she came, and to not return until Autumn has come and gone. Hello sweet Spring, I await your warm embrace and I am encouraged by the summer air that is on the horizon.

WE went to Mexico in the end of February. It was a nice break from the crazy winter we have had!!! Bob and Gesse were great traveling partners. Michael and I got to sleep in a few times and that is always a treat. Owen had so much fun at the beach and at the hotel because he could just run like crazy ( if you know Owen you know what I am talking about)! One day we went to some ruins and i thought about if prophets of the book of mormon had actually been there, like some people speculate, how overwhelming that is to be standing there on that same ground. We had such a good time and I am so glad owen could be there with us!!!!
